FAQs

Do you offer trial lessons?

Yes, the trial lessons can be helpful to ensure the student and teacher can build a positive relationship together that can lead to improved academic results.

Is there a registration fee?

There is an annual $100 administration fee per student for individual lessons. This fee covers supplies, print materials, recitals, etc. To get more information, you can take a look at our policies and procedures .

Can I use a keyboard or digital piano?

Our teachers vary on what they require of their students, but generally the bare minimum is a digital piano with weighted keys and touch sensitivity. This will usually work for students for a year or two before they need to graduate to an acoustic piano.

Why is the music theory courses necessary for students, and performers?

The purpose of serious methodologies such as VCM, RCM, Suzuki, and ABRSM is to offer the student as well-rounded an education in classical music as possible. Studying theory sets performers and students on the right path to knowing how music is composed and interpreting the music compositions and notes. Understanding theory teaches and allows learners to understand the importance of scales, keys, notation, intervals, melody pitch, harmony, and more when learning an instrument.
