Their makeup was flawless, complete with fake eyelashes, while their hair was styled into extravagant Victory Rolls or pinned up to perfection. This lifestyle was not just about appearance; it embodied self-love and attitude. Welcome to the enchanting realm of Burlesque. I extend an invitation to immerse yourself in an afternoon of opulence and femininity! I am excited to lead a workshop on a classic Burlesque Act known as the Gown and Glove, where the art of seduction lies in the tantalizing removal of a satin glove. During this session, we will delve into the rich history of Burlesque. Following a brief motivational warm-up, you will learn a 2-minute Gown and Glove dance routine. As you master the art of Bumping, Grinding, Quivering, and Shimmying to showcase your divine figure, there will be ample opportunity to capture your performance on film. I encourage you to bring your favorite dress, a cherished clothing piece, or anything that embodies your personal interpretation of glamour. There will be time for outfit changes before filming begins.

FAQs

Can anyone take classes?

Yes! We are an all inclusive studio and everyone is welcome to enjoy our classes regardless of race, gender, identity, religious views, body type or ability.

I'm in a marginalized community, am I safe to attend?

Absolutely! We are an all inclusive space and want everyone to feel safe to attend classes. Racism, bullying, harassment or any other forms of hate or prejudice will not be tolerated in our facility whatsoever.

Where can I find parking?

There is plenty of pay by meter street parking in front and around our studio. Alternatively, you can park at New West sky train station across the street and walk over (approx 2 min walk).

Do you offer water?

Yes! We have a hot and cold water cooler for you to use with your own water bottles. We do also sell bottled water for $2.00 if you happen to forget yours.

Can I take videos or pics during class?

We prefer you to be completely present and not distracted by your phone during class but you may film yourself or take pictures at the end of class. Please be considerate of other students around you as they may not want to be on camera.
