I hate to say this: these places DO get people results. nnIf they didn’t they would be out of business. nnHow do they get people results? nnA few possibilities: n- the placebo affect is real. n- they might mention some evidence based things. Maybe they do promote some movement and exercise. Or discuss sleep and stress. n- time. Recovery takes time. Maybe the issue would have resolved on its own without any formal treatments. nnBut these results come at a cost:nThat cost could be money. Some people end up spending thousands of dollars at these places. Some even end up taking out loans to afford the treatment. nThat cost could be time. These places can delay people from getting the evidence informed care they deserve. nThat cost could be mindset. These places can preach that your body is fragile and needs constant care and treatment leading you to lose confidence in what your body can do. nnYou deserve better.
