Above Average Wellness is a yoga, fitness and wellness studio that focuses on serving the market of beginner, limited mobility and plus size individuals. Anyone is welcome at our studio but all the classes are taught in a way that makes them more accessible. We are body positive which includes ALL bodies, regardless of ability, strength, flexibility, or mobility. We are very community minded and would love to get to know you. Men and women are welcome at the studio but we do have some women specific classes. We also offer bodywork treatment such as massage, osteopath treatment, Reiki, crystal healing, needle free acupuncture and more. What is the mission of your organization?

At Enrich Yoga and Wellness, our mission to create a safe and welcoming environment for any person who would like to participate in yoga; regardless of age, size, gender, race, religion, or anything else. We are an accessible and inclusive yoga studio based on wellness, not performance or competition.

How do you create an inclusive and welcoming environment?

Our studio is small and cozy, we have one washroom that is gender neutral. Our staff have inclusivity training, and we make it clear in many ways that all people are welcome at our studio.

What types of yoga classes do you offer, and are they suitable for beginners?

We offer Gentle yoga, which is great for beginners, although even our flow classes are suitable for beginners as we offer variations to poses and the use of props throughout. Our Chair Yoga class is a great option for all students as well.

Are your instructors trained in LGBTQ+ sensitivity and inclusivity?

We participated in a group training / workshop on just that topic. Of course, there is always room for improvement, but we are trying as best as we can.

Do I need to have my own yoga gear to come to the studio?

No! We have absolutely everything you could need, besides a change of comfy clothes. Although, speaking of clothes, feel free to wear whatever you are comfortable in (no fancy yoga pants needed here). We have mats for you to use as well as every other type of yoga prop you could think of.
