He excitedly asked me how I felt, and I said it was great (although the mistake you played almost made me fall down) , he said because it was a new song and “I had just practiced it 😀 ” At that moment I felt super happy!
Not only are we grateful to Torey as our son's piano teacher, but our daughter is starting up in the fall, and she is so excited to start after having seen her brother's piano journey.
I was apprehensive to start learning piano as an adult but Torey made me feel so at ease.
Torey is a wonderful person, a talented and dedicated teacher, our experience with her was great and we highly recommend her studio.
We'd discuss other aspects, like the music theory, building confidence when playing, harnessing a flow state, and playing mindfully, as well as so many other things that would require a whole chapter to share in detail.
Torey is able to hold our son to a high standard in his playing when he's feeling engaged and motivated and yet she's also very understanding and able to make lessons productive even when he's been finding it hard to practice.
Our son started lessons with Torey when he was six and it has been amazing to see his progress and how much he enjoys his time with her each week.
Torey is a wonderful teacher who takes the time to understand your individual goals and plan lessons accordingly.
Your patience and love for piano blended with your teaching experience and diverse methods helped my kids to learn so much the last two years.
